Getting your cat back

The rules in Longueuil
- Licence required for cats, valid January 1 to December 31 and renewed every year: $5 for a sterilized cat, $10 otherwise. It's still required for a cat who never goes out or who is microchipped. Buy it at licences.proanima.com/longueuil.
- The tag is given at the first registration, then a sticker in a different colour every year. Lost tag: $3. A cat doesn't have to wear it.
- No more than 5 animals per home, including at most 3 cats.

Street cats
Proanima has a community cat program (TNR, called CSRM in French): registered colony caretakers, free sterilization for the colony's cats, a trap lent for 7 days against a deposit. Cats are marked with a notch in the left ear and a small green tattoo. The program covers Proanima's "partner cities" without naming them: check with Proanima, at 450-655-2525.
